The Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Email for Life allows Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ retirees to continue participating in the academic, professional and social communities that they helped to build.

 

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ University is pleased to introduce Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Email for Life, a new benefit that enables eligible retired academic and Professional and Administrative staff to retain their official Name.Surname@wits.ac.za email address for life. This benefit will be available from 20 July 2026 for eligible staff.

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Email for Life ensures that the connection between Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ and our retirees continues through a lifelong relationship with the University. This will enable retirees to preserve their professional identity, have access to their email archives, and maintain lifelong academic and professional relationships. Keeping that identity intact allows our retirees to continue participating in the academic, professional and social communities that they helped to build.

The Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Email For Life service provides secure web-based access to your Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ email account while maintaining appropriate governance and security. Access is limited to email services only and does not include continued access to University systems such as HR, Finance, VPN, libraries or campus facilities unless separately authorised through the relevant University processes. Multi-factor authentication will continue to protect accounts and inactive accounts may be deactivated in accordance with the University’s policy.

How to Apply for Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Email For Life

Eligible staff approaching retirement will receive information from Human Resources about how to opt into the service as part of the retirement process. Should you have any queries, please contact your respective HR Officer, or email HRIS.Support@wits.ac.za  for further assistance.
