Join Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Pride from 20-25 August 2018
Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Pride 2018 takes place across Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ University from 20-25 August. The period is an annual occurrence which brings awareness to and celebrates the diversity of LGBTIAQ+* people at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ and beyond. The Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Transformation and Employment Equity Office and student society ACTIVATE Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ host Pride, in partnership with a number of organisations and departments within and outside of Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ University.
Our 2018 theme is Not On My Watch. It calls on members of the University community and those beyond to challenge instances of discrimination against LGBTIAQ+ folk. People who identify as LGBTIAQ+ often face multiple forms of intersecting oppressions and do not feel safe. Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Pride offers safe spaces to discuss intersections of violence, get information on sexual orientations and gender identities, find community in social events and celebrate the immense value LGBTIAQ+ people offer to our University community.
Should you require accommodation for any disabilit(ies), please contact us to discuss how best we can support you. All queries related to Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Pride can be directed to Tish Lumos.
