University Forum
The University Forum is established in accordance with Section 31 of the Higher Education Act (“the Act” and paragraph 22 of the Statute of the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ University (“the Statute”).
FUNCTION
- The University Forum must advise the Council on issues affecting the University, including –
- the implementation of the Act and the national policy on higher education;
- race and gender equity policies;
- the selection of candidates for senior management positions;
- codes of conduct, mediation and dispute resolution procedures; and
- the fostering of an institutional culture that promotes tolerance and respect for fundamental human rights and creates an appropriate environment for teaching, research and learning.
- The University Forum must perform such Functions as may be determined by the Council.
- The University Forum provides the Council with written advice on matters affecting the University.
- The University Forum considers written feedback from the Council on recommendations of the University Forum not accepted by the Council.
