The national quantum strategy makes 9 key recommendations for strategic intervention to accelerate technology development and deployment in an effort to create a quantum industry in South Africa. At the heart of these recommendations is the process of innovation, turning ideas into solutions, and solutions into businesses. Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½Q actively promotes quantum innovation across all spheres of quantum technologies, including:
- new technologies for quantum communication, integrating sources, detectors, and protocols for a deployable ready quantum network;
- new quantum cameras and microscopes, to probe objects with few photons for a step-change in health imaging;
- new technologies for on-chip integrated quantum computers;
- new ‘quantum apps’, harnessing quantum computing to create new quantum software solutions for industry.
