Returning International Students

Welcome back to Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½! As a returning international student, you need to complete a few compliance steps at the start of each academic year before you can register. The good news is that you have done this before: here is a quick reminder of what is needed.

Your annual checklist

Renew your Study Visa Your study visa must be valid for the current academic year. Do not wait until it expires! Begin the renewal process well in advance to avoid any registration delays. ISO can provide a Letter of Undertaking to support your application.
Renew your South African Medical Aid Medical aid must be valid through 31 December of the current year. Update your membership before you come in for clearance.

Fees and Financial Information Before you can register each year, you'll need to pay 75% of your annual tuition fees, the international registration fee (if applicable), and accommodation fees if you're staying in a university residence. The remaining 25% is due by 30 June.
Get International Clearance to Register You cannot register at your faculty without ISO clearance each year: this applies to all returning students, regardless of your year of study. Bring your valid passport, study visa, and medical aid certificate.
Register Once you have clearance, complete your registration via the Student Self Service Portal or in person at your faculty office.
